News from the Trustees- April 2021

We have been going through our archives and came across a newsletter from Father Robin Lamburn in 1979 he wrote: ‘In six months’ time we hope to establish a really good Day Care Centre for the children who are under school age. Little babies are usually well cared for by their mothers, but when another baby comes along the first one tends to be left to fend for itself. Now we hope to do something positive to support these children before they go to school’.

Over forty years later the Kindergarten is thriving, and the two teachers and cook ensure that 55 children receive care, pre-school education and a nourishing meal every day.

Every picture tells a story

Long term supporters of RLT may remember our very early newsletters had some lovely illustrations. Sadly, we do not know the names of the artists who drew the pictures but thought we would share a few of them with you, as they capture perfectly life in the village at that time.

If you know who created these lovely pictures or have any more information about them, we would be thrilled to hear from you, perhaps you are the person that drew them! You can reach us at rufijilt@gmail.com.
