The Polack Dispensary
The Polack Dispensary is a large building situated in the centre of the Village. Its annual running cost is borne by the Persula Trust and it is named after one of its Trustees, Ernest Polack.
Originally the Dispensary was just that: for dispensing the drugs used to treat leprosy. Over the years it has grown in size and now treats many other ailments and has a Mother and Baby Clinic. Medicines are free and many people come from the surrounding areas to be treated. However, recently more and more of the drugs are provided by the Tanzanian government, with whom the Care Centre cooperates closely.
